Hi there!
I don’t know what it is like to be you as I write my blog this morning. I do know that God loves you! There is grace and mercy from God the Father through Jesus Christ for you today – whatever your life looks like – whoever you are!
I feel in my heart to write this blog to you who are living through deep and prolonged stress and turmoil in your life. If you are able to get your head around this little message, and the scripture involved, I believe you can be helped!
The text is: Isaiah 61,1-3*
ISAIAH 61,1-3
61 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,
and the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
This was the scripture that Jesus quoted in Nazareth his home town, that time when he announced the commencement of his ministry. Lk. 4,18
He said, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” His meaning was that it was fulfilled in him, and would be fulfilled in his ministry.
The text says that Jesus was sent to bind up, to heal the broken-hearted!
“Broken-hearted” can mean different things. If you are experiencing grief, the Lord is with you. He will bring you through it!
But broken-hearted (note that I have hyphenated it) may also mean literally that your heart is broken. There is a very dark cloud hanging over your life right now, and it shows few signs of going away; the fight has gone out of you; the spirit has gone out of you, because the fight – the spirit – the faith is in the heart.
Note that I have a lion on my website! It is to remind me, and you, of his strength and courage! That we are fighters!
It is not for nothing that Jesus is called “The Lion of Judah”. He is KING, and has NO PROBLEM being victorious in your life and situation!😀
It is to such a person as you that I write this text today. The Lord wants you to get your heart back! Get your spirit back! Get your hope and faith back!😊 Notice what this text says:
to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
Just get your eyes back on the Lord! He is here to help you! Get filled with the Spirit! He will yet turn this thing around! I encourage you! 😊 He will turn your mourning into dancing! Ps. 32,11
Many things may shift and shake in our lives.
But the Lord is the same. He is the Solid Rock, the Sure Foundation.
Pauls says:
13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Cor. 13,13
Keep faith and hope alive! And stick with the love! And take your joy back! The Lord is with us!😊👍
THE POWER TO OVERCOME COMES FROM THE LORD! Isaiah 40,29-31
*The Book of Isaiah contains four so-called Servant songs in Isaiah 40-55: They are found in 42,1-4; 49,1-6; 50,4-7; and 52,13-53,12. They are about the Messiah. In 52,13-53,12, he is the Suffering Servant.
Isaiah 61, 1-4, might also rightly be called a 5th Servant song, because it is about the Messiah and what he will do.
In Old Testament theology they are known as the Ebed Yahweh hymns (Ebed Yahweh = Servant of the Lord in Hebrew)
Thank you for sharing this message Karl.
It toucher my heart and fred my Soul this morning.
Kristin 😊
