Many of us will at this moment in time be wondering what is happening in our world; living with an uncertain future; wondering whether we or our loved ones are at risk from the current pandemic.

In this very difficult time when we are all listening for the latest update on the coronavirus, fear and anxiety can grip our hearts.

And whilst medical authorities rightly warn of the dangers of this virus, and at the same time channel a measured and sober message of reassurance through the media, our lives nevertheless have been changed – and we are feeling it!

Where then is peace for worried minds and souls to be found?

Is there any, who in this swiftly changing world changes not?

In these troubled times God says:

“I am the Lord, I change not!” Malachi 3,6

He is the Rock! Deut. 32,4

The eternal God is our refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. Deut. 33,27

Let us therefore come to him and trust him and receive the invitation to pray given in Paul’s letter to the Philippians cited below:

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭

The most comprehensive biblical (Old and New Testament) meaning of peace, is simply “well-being”.

The significant thing to remember is that it is a well-being that comes from God.

He cares for us! 1 Peter 5,7

Let us therefore receive his peace!😊
